DESIGN

As an architect and long-time woodworker/woodturner Jim is experienced in all facets of woodturning and wood design. His design background is extensive and varied. He can handle everything from small production jobs to one-off artistic, sculptural pieces.

TEACHING

Jim regularly tutors students in his Kingston, Washington studio (the bowl barn). He is an experienced teacher, having taught for several years at the university level, and is comfortable with all levels of turning from beginner to advanced. He prefers one-on-one instruction but can accommodate small groups in his studio. He has also given several local club demonstrations both in Kingston and in San Diego. He frequently gives demonstrations to small groups of turners/non-turners interested in the craft. He is passionate about continuing the handmade craft concept in America. Kingston, Washington is on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula on the West side of Puget Sound about one hour from Seattle, Washington.
